Overview: The Billing assistant plays a crucial role in our organization, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices and billing for our trucking and warehousing operations. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in billing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with both internal teams and external clients.
Responsibilities:
- Billing processing, reviewing, and verifying customer pricing to ensure billing accuracy.
- Tracking order documents and ensure being uploaded into the logistic system.
- Ensure all orders are entered and billed in a timely fashion and able to meet deadlines.
- Create customer invoices and send them to customers for payment processing.
- Process vendor invoices, match vendor invoices to orders, review and verify vendor charges, and communicate discrepancies to get adjustments from vendors.
- Data entry in logistics and accounting systems.
- Assist AR on collection matters and follow up on past due balances.
- Communicate with carriers and customers with billing and payment inquiries.
- Other accounting duties as required.
- General administrative responsibilities as required – document filing, matching invoices, cutting cheques, and mailing.
Required Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Accurate data entry skills and detail oriented.
- Self-starter and fast learner, able to work independently and as a team player, highly organized and positive attitude.
- Working experience in the trucking industry is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in accounting/finance/business admin
- Knowledge of Adobe, Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word, and QuickBooks preferred
- Previous billing and collection experience preferred. We are willing to train the right person with no experience if the candidate meets the above qualifications and is a quick learner.
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
